Course Overview

An introduction to the design fundamentals of architecture and interior design, emphasizing two- and three-dimensional elements, mass, space, and visual communication.

Develop design concepts; apply scale, proportion, and ordering systems; evaluate work through written, visual, and verbal critique; make measured drawings and sketches; build analog and digital models; and present design work professionally.

Bruce Monighan leads the primary lecture. Brett Culbert leads the Section 01 studio, where ten students develop and review the same assignments and deadlines as the larger ARCH 10 course.
